The Newest Member of our Class! |
I want to welcome a new member to our classroom! She is a great addition to our class and very well liked! Look at the pictures below to find out who she is!
Ever since I was little, I have loved the muppets. About two years ago I was watching a TV show called Community. In the episode I was watching, all the characters turned into puppets that looked like them! I decided I had to have a puppet that looked like me. My mom always tells me I had to have it yesterday. I think she is right! I did some research and found someone who could make a caricature puppet that looked like me. I ordered her in February from Jay Tyson. In 1999 he was a puppeteer in the movie Muppets from Space. He is great! If you ever need a puppet you can contact him on his website. You can find his website here My students are really enjoying "The Puppet who Looks Like Ms. Webster." You should ask your child about her!

We made a writing craft for our grandparents! They turned out really cute! If you would like the activity you can find it here: Grandparent's Day Activity!
We also had a Grandparent's Day celebration in our classroom. Grandparent's had donuts and orange juice! They also read what their grandchild wrote on their writing craft.

The 100th Day of School |
Sorry it has been so long!! I have been very busy teaching my students this year!
On Thursday we had the 100th day of school! One of the activities we did was that I took my students' picture an aged them to look like they were 100 years old! I used an app called Oldify 2! My students loved it! They were giggling and laughing! We had a lot of fun with this! Then they wrote what they would look like when they are 100 years old! As you can see in the pictures, a lot of them said they were going to stay at home. You can download the writing activity by clicking here. Please leave a comment that you downloaded it!

In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb |
Who has spring fever?
As the saying goes, "In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb" the weather here has roared! We are ready for some warm weather!
We wrote some cute acrostic poems for the words lion and lambs this week. Here are some cute examples that my students wrote:
Lambs stay in a group called
A flock and they are
Mammals
But they are nice and fun.
Lions are beasts
I love their mane
On their neck
No girl can have a lion as a pet!
This cute craft came from Miss Kindergarten Love. Just click on her name to go to her store. The students really enjoyed learning about where wool comes from, the uses of wool, and glueing wool on their lamb! "It is so soft Ms. Webster," they said! Great job class!

Librarian Visit and National Pig Day |
On Thursday the public librarian, Mr. Mark, came to our classroom. He read some cute books about President's Day. The students always love when he visits. After he read, he let the students make a Abe Lincoln collage.
On Friday we made pig masks and an Olivia the Pig craft for Saturday, March 1st, National Pig Day. My favorite thing is pigs! The students enjoyed this activity and they looked so cute with their pigs! I got the pig mask activity here. I got the Olivia the Pig activity here.
